Spare Me the Hollywood Heroics
Mourners dig graves on 3 March as funerals take place for children killed in the bombing of Shajareh Tayyebeh girls’ primary school in Minab, southern Iran on Saturday. According to Iranian state media, the strike during the US-Israeli bombing campaign killed up to 168 people and injured 95. Why should I care that a United States Air Force member was rescued in a daring mission behind enemy lines after his F-14E fighter jet was shot down?

I am writing to you less than 12 hours until President Trump's supposed deadline for Iran to make a deal, or else "an entire civilization will die," with Trump and Vance hinting at using potential nuclear weapons. To what end? Genocide of course; it can't be argued otherwise.

So again, why should I care about this rescue mission? Am I supposed to feel sorry for his plight and grateful to my country that he was rescued, when he is likely guilty of crimes against humanity? We are not falling for this military propaganda anymore. The great author and journalist, Seth Harp, put it best with this tweet:
"The American people are heavily propagandized but the predictable manufactured Hollywood heroics just aren't hitting the same when everyone knows that our military is bombing elementary schools, volleyball players, universities, hospitals, residential buildings, and synagogues."

Yes, it's true. The U.S. and Israel have been annihilating hospitals, schools, churches, and more in this illegal war on a sovereign nation. Scores of innocent lives have been destroyed. According to an Al Jazeera journalist inside Iran, we've hit:

•30 universities
• 760 schools
• Hospitals

• Professors assassinated.
• University students killed in their own homes.

The very first high profile strike in this Iran War was literally on the Shajareh Tayyebeh girls' elementary school, killing at least 175 civilians, 100 of which were schoolchildren*. I've yet to see any American or Israeli servicemembers punished over this war crime.

This is not liberating the people of Iran from a tyrannical regime. This is pure annihilation with the intent of state collapse. Anyone who believes otherwise is either lying or just plain ignorant. We have the proof.

You might be reading this and wondering where my patriotism is. Well, above all else I'm guided by humanism. When patriotism trumps humanism or humanity, that's literal fascism. Unchecked jingoistic patriotism is fascism. Full stop.

So instead of cheering on badass search and rescue missions, please do yourself a favor and read up on what exactly the governnment - in our name and with our tax dollars - is orchestrating in Iran. It's only going to get worse, and soon.
